What is the Elephant rescue?

The African elephant and the Asian elephant have different issues.

African elephants are hunted and killed only for their tusks, only to be sold to China or other buyers - this leaves the baby, if there is one staying with the mother only to starve or be attack by other wildlife. (babies have no tusks)

Asian elephants are born or captured and put into work camps - logging - street performing - side shows. They are beaten into submission so they can be controlled by the owners or workers. They work them until they die - in many cases this can be 30-60 years of hard labor.

10+ years ago there were no Elephant Sanctuaries, they were riding camps and logging camps. Now is a different time and we have been to many sanctuaries and have witnessed an amazing change.

Elephants are wild animals and should be left alone to be wild elephants.

My goal is to sponsor as many programs from orphan rescue to Anti-Poaching units. Together we can make it happen.
